2 weeks 3 days ago
Many beneficial insects live in our gardens, backyards, and beyond. This course will focus on butterflies and dragonflies, two groups of common yet beneficial insects. Participants will learn about the biology, diversity, and field marks of common species in the classroom, and take outdoor walks to look for them in the gardens, arboretum, and nearby natural areas. Native plants attractive to butterflies will also be covered, along with suggested field guides and reference books. Binoculars are not essential, but if you have a pair, bring them! Ages 15 to adult are welcome. Pre-registration is required.
